Civilian Protection
About the Program
The Civilian Protection Program focuses on safeguarding vulnerable populations, particularly women and children, through integrated and community-centered protection approaches. This includes the establishment of Child-Friendly Spaces that provide safe environments for learning, play, and psychosocial support, as well as protection case management services that ensure individuals at risk receive timely and appropriate assistance. The program also conducts awareness-raising activities on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (CRSV), and Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) to strengthen community knowledge, prevention mechanisms, and protective practices. Through these efforts, The Space works to promote dignity, safety, well-being, and community resilience in conflict-affected areas.

Early Warning & Preparedness
Building community-based early warning systems and conducting preparedness drills to help families respond quickly when danger arises.
Explosive Ordnance & Air Strike Risk Education
Raising community awareness on the risks of landmines, unexploded ordnance, and air strikes to reduce casualties and support safer daily movement.
Bomb Shelters & Protective Infrastructure
Supporting communities to establish bomb shelters and bunkers that offer a safer place to take refuge during attacks.
First Aid Training
Equipping community members with basic first aid skills so they can respond effectively to injuries during emergencies.
Community Awareness & Capacity Building
Strengthening community knowledge and skills on protection issues to build local capacity for prevention and response.
Community Education & Policy Advocacy
Promoting civic and protection-focused education while advocating for policies and governance structures that better safeguard civilians.
